We do not recommend this type of installation. Leaving space between acoustic panels allows the exposed sides to absorb sound, maximizing sound-absorption per sq foot. This improves the panel’s acoustic performance and aesthetics of the treatment.
Installing fabric-wrapped panels next to one another is less effective per sq foot and it can also create visible seams, which are less appealing. Wall intolerances or manufacturer intolerances also need to be taken into consideration if you are choosing this type of installation.
Rarely does a wall require that much treatment to achieve the desired effect. When properly spaced, fewer panels are needed, delivering effective sound absorption while reducing unnecessary material and cost.
If your project requires panels with a close-fit or edge-to-edge installation, please contact us for further tips or alternatives to ensure the best possible performance for your space.
